Here's the latest update from May 26 doctors visit. Bloodwork was drawn, and showed high bilirubin levels. Bilirubin is formed in the liver by the breakdown of hemoglobin. Then it is excreted through the bile. When you have high levels, that means it is not getting excreted, so it's backing up. So the doctor sent me to get an ultrasound to see if there was anything blocking the bile duct. The good news is, there is nothing blocking the bile duct. So, it could be the chemo tha ... t was causing this to happen. Therefore, chemo for this coming week has been postponed a week. They also took me off the cholesterol pill, as it can have adverse affect on the liver. I have to drink a lot of water and eat very healthy food from here on out, to try and flush the toxins out of my system and bring the levels down. I will be having blood work done again on Thursday, June 1. At the earliest, chemo will resume on June 5 at a reduced dosage to try and avoid the levels spiking again.
